Hodge Plumbing Website

A clean, simple and premium-looking website for a local plumber, designed in about an hour and a half and loved enough that the owner now refers me to others.

Hodge Plumbing website design: a "Reliable Plumbing Services in Cartersville" hero, a plumber at work, a services grid and a contact form.

Overview

Hodge Plumbing is a reliable plumbing business in Cartersville that handles anything plumbing-related. Their old website needed updating, and they wanted a new one that clearly showcased their services.

The problem

The old site no longer represented the business well. For a local service like plumbing, people visiting the site usually need help fast. They want to understand what the business does and how to reach them at a glance. The new site had to make that effortless.

My role

I designed the website, working directly with the owner.

Process

  1. Asked the right questions first. Before designing anything, I asked the owner a few questions to understand the message he wanted his website to send.
  2. Turned his answers into a direction: clean, simple, and easy to understand and read.
  3. Designed the site around showcasing his services clearly, in about 1.5 hours.

Key decisions

Simple.

No clutter and nothing extra. Every part of the page has a job.

Scannable.

Visitors can understand the services within seconds, because people looking for a plumber are usually in a hurry.

Premium-looking.

A polished look builds trust, and trust is what makes someone pick up the phone and call a local business.

Challenges

This project went smoothly. Taking time to understand the owner's message before designing meant the direction was clear from the start, with no back-and-forth needed.

Results

What I learned

The questions you ask before designing matter as much as the design itself. Understanding exactly what the client wanted to say made the work fast and focused. A happy client who refers you to others is one of the best results a project can have.
