Clozr
A mobile app that connects people with licensed professionals near them. Think Uber, but for local services, designed to feel trustworthy, premium and easy to use.
Overview
Clozr helps people quickly find local services and professionals close to them. Instead of searching around and hoping for the best, users open the app, see who's nearby, and connect with a professional they can trust.
I met the client through a friend. From the start, they were clear about how Clozr should feel: trustworthy, premium and easy to use.
The problem
Hiring someone for a service often comes with risk. People get scammed by "professionals" who aren't actually qualified, and it's hard to tell who's legitimate before you hire them.
The solution: licensed professionals only
To fix this at the root, a license is mandatory to sign up as a professional on Clozr. Users know that everyone they find in the app is a real, verified professional, which makes trust part of the product itself.
My role
I designed the app's user experience and interface, working directly with the client.
Process
- Met and aligned. Regular meetings with the client made sure we understood each other's goals and ideas.
- Defined the feel: trustworthy, premium and easy to use guided every decision.
- Designed the app over about 3 months, shaping the experience around helping users find and trust a professional quickly.
Key decisions
Trust first.
For an app where strangers hire strangers, trust is everything. The design was built to make users feel safe at every step.
Clean and professional.
A clean, polished look supports that trust. If the app looks professional, the people in it feel professional too.
Easy to use.
Finding help should be fast and simple, so the experience stays straightforward from search to connecting with a professional.
Challenges
The project ran smoothly. Most of the work was regular meetings to understand each other's vision, and that communication kept the design on track.
Status
The design work took about 3 months. The app was heading into development, but the project is currently paused on the client's side.
What I learned
Designing for trust is its own challenge. When users are inviting someone into their home or business, the design has to reassure them at every step. I also saw how a single product decision, like requiring a license, can solve a problem better than any visual design alone. Regular communication with the client made a 3-month project feel smooth.
