Rewrd
A loyalty program app where customers carry one QR code for every shop, designed, branded and vibe coded by me in 5 days.
Overview
Rewrd is a loyalty program for any business whose customers buy something: cafes, salons, shops and more. It serves two sides: merchants who want to reward repeat customers, and customers who want to collect rewards without the hassle.
I built Rewrd for myself. It's not a client project and wasn't made to profit. I wanted to help business owners and to start my own vibe coding and app-building journey. I'd always wanted to build something of my own, and Rewrd is that first step.
The problem
Most loyalty programs still run on printed stamp cards, which customers forget at home or lose. The apps that exist mostly copy the same idea digitally: a separate stamp card for every shop, so customers have to dig through cards to find the right one.
The solution: one QR for everything
Rewrd uses a single universal QR code:
- Customers show one QR code, no matter which shop they're in.
- Merchants scan that same QR to award points.
No paper cards to lose and no hunting for the right stamp card.
My role
I did everything: product idea, branding, UI/UX design and building the app. I designed the brand and interface to feel trustworthy for both customers and merchants, and very user-friendly.
Process
- Started from a real problem: lost stamp cards and cluttered loyalty apps.
- Built with AI. I used Claude to think through ideas, answer my questions about how apps work, and write prompts, then built the app in Base44.
- Designed for trust. From branding to UI, every part was shaped so merchants and customers would feel safe using it.
- Shipped in 5 days, from idea to a fully working app.
Key features I'm proud of
One universal QR.
The core idea. One code works at every participating merchant, which makes Rewrd simpler than both paper cards and other loyalty apps.
Flexible reward rules.
Each merchant chooses how their program works: points per spend, per visit or per item. That makes Rewrd fit almost any kind of business.
Staff accounts.
Owners can add staff and see who awarded which points, which prevents points from being abused.
Challenges
This was my first app, and there was a lot I didn't understand yet about how apps work. I used up more credits than planned while learning through trial and error. Each mistake taught me something, and the app got finished.
Results
- Built in 5 days, from idea to a fully functional app.
- Live at rewrdapp.site and onboarding its first 5 users.
- My first step into building my own products with AI.
What I learned
Building my own product changed how I see design. As the designer and the builder, I had to think about how everything actually works, from how points are awarded to how staff can be trusted, not just how it looks. I also learned that you don't need to know everything before you start. Asking questions, making mistakes and learning along the way got a real app into real users' hands in 5 days.
